The broad range of music on this list reflects music I came across during my studies and throughout my musical career to date. It contains almost all the pieces I have studied and (mostly) performed that I think have real musical substance - that is, they really appeal to me! I am in still in touch with most of this music, either through performance or through studying it with my pupils. I am adding to my repertoire all the time, my choice being shaped both by the music itself and by what will suit my current musical circumstances. Important note for music listed as 'with tape'. Check that a digital version of the electronics, playable on modern equipment, can be obtained if necessary, before you put in hours of practice. Or check the availability of equipment that will play the original tapes.
